Tucson has an average poverty rate of 22.1%, which is 6.2% higher than the national average (US Census 2017). The cost of food is increasing and income inequality is growing. Caring Ministries is here to fill that gap, providing more than food and resources, but also hope and care.

With a budget of less than $300,000 we distribute 17,000 pounds of food a day, 6 days a week, year round. The value of the food we give away is nearly $7 million annually. We could not do this with such low operating costs without amazing volunteers to make up the majority of our team. Even still, our operation is not possible without the financial means to maintain our trucks and keep our commercial refrigeration running, both costs that are growing to support even more people.
